What We Believe
What We Believe
At New Macedonia Church, we are a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church rooted in both Baptist and Pentecostal traditions. We believe in the power of God's Word, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the mission of the Church to bring transformation to individuals, families, and communities. Below is an outline of our core beliefs:
1. The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is the final authority for faith, conduct, and spiritual growth.
2. The Trinity
We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14). Each is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal.
3. Salvation Through Jesus Christ
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Through His sacrifice, we are redeemed and reconciled to God.
4. Water Baptism
We believe in baptism by immersion as an outward expression of an inward transformation, symbolizing the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-4, Matthew 28:19).
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience available to all believers, empowering them for service and equipping them with spiritual gifts (Acts 2:4, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11). We affirm the present-day operation of the gifts of the Spirit, including healing, prophecy, and speaking in tongues.
6. The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, disciple, serve, and evangelize the world (Matthew 28:19-20, Ephesians 4:11-13). We are committed to building a community of faith that reflects the love and mission of Jesus Christ.
7. Holiness and Christian Living
We believe that believers are called to live a life of holiness, set apart for God, through the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:15-16, Galatians 5:22-23). This includes walking in love, integrity, and obedience to God's Word.
8. The Second Coming of Christ
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom fully. He will return to judge the living and the dead, bringing eternal life to the redeemed and eternal separation to those who reject Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 20:11-15).
9. The Great Commission
We believe in the Church’s responsibility to share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission through evangelism, outreach, and community service.
At New Macedonia, we stand firm on these biblical truths while embracing a spirit of love, unity, and grace. Our goal is to see lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and anchored in God’s Word.
